Controls and Settings
The RadioRemote web app displays an assortment of functional panels that organize controls for various aspects of using the radio. Some "manditory" panels are always displayed and others may be shown when selected from the Hamburger menu or from buttons at the top of the app.
The actual function of the controls reflect that of the KX3 radio and you should reference the KX3 manual for detailed information.
Frequency Control PanelThe Frequency Control Panel is recognized by the frequency display and large tuning knob that reflect the radio's main VFO A. The panel also has an S-meter display, a small, hideable spectrum display and some basic audio controls.
The frequency can be set in various ways:
- Turning the knob
- Turning the mouse wheel while hovering over knob (if mouse available)
- Clicking the down frequency and up frequency arrow buttons
- Selecting a preset value from the editable PRESETS list
- Using the numeric KBD entry pad
- Changing BAND
- Clicking on a Spectrum display with frequency change enabled
The Controls Panel organizes the radio's control functions. Checkboxes are the on-off switches. Sliders are more like linear knobs for adjusting values. Knobs are used for finer adustments.
Related controls are in sub-panels which can shown or hidden. Changing operating Mode can highlight pertinent sub-panels while hiding others. Most used controls are always shown at the top of the panel. The sub-panel groups are:
- VFO A B
- CW
- SSB
- DATA
- FM
- XMT
- MENU
The Data Panel has a text area display used to show major status messages, received data decoded by the KX3 and the transmit data in Data modes.
A text box Staging Area for Data transmit modes lets you prepare your message for transmission. You can type in your message, select one of several previously prepared messages or prepare your message using the "phrase" keys in the Messages sub-panel. These most often used phrases can help form real-time messages quickly.
